First Visit

Welcome to Your First Visit at Quality Community Acupuncture!

What to Expect During Your First Appointment?

Duration: Your first visit will last approximately 60 minutes. This includes a consultation to discuss your health concerns and goals, followed by your acupuncture treatment.

Cost: The first appointment is $60. Follow-up treatments are offered on a sliding scale of $40–$60—you choose what works best for you. No income verification is required.

Setting: Our clinic operates in a community setting, meaning treatments are provided in a shared space designed for comfort and relaxation. Even though we operate as a community clinic with multiple treatment tables in one room, your privacy remains a priority. We use dividers between tables to create a comfortable and discreet environment for your care.

How to Prepare for Your Visit

Before Arrival

Comfortable Clothing

Light Meal

Time

  1. Complete the Online Intake Form:

    • After scheduling your appointment, please fill out our initial intake form online. Please complete this before you arrive.

  1. Wear Comfortable Clothing:

    • Loose, comfortable clothes are best, as we may need access to your arms, legs, or back during treatment.

  1. Eat a Light Meal:

    • Avoid coming on an empty stomach. A light meal or snack beforehand will help you feel more comfortable during the session.

  1. Arrive on time:

    • Community Acupuncture can be very busy, especially during peak hours. To keep treatments running smoothly for everyone, please arrive on time for your appointment. On busy days, I won’t be able to accommodate patients who arrive more than 10 minutes late. If you arrive early, I’ll be happy to see you sooner if the schedule allows; otherwise, I will start your treatment at your scheduled time. Thank you for understanding and helping us create a respectful, efficient environment for all.

Your Comfort is Our Priority

What to bring

You don’t need to bring much—just yourself! If you’d like, bring a water bottle to stay hydrated, or maybe a light blanket if you have a tendency to feel cold

Relax in Our Space

Our community treatment room is designed for quiet relaxation. Feel free to bring headphones.

Common Questions for First-Time Patients

  • Does acupuncture hurt?

  • Answer: Most people find acupuncture to be relaxing and relatively painless. You may feel a slight pinch or tingling when the needles are inserted, but they are very thin and designed for minimal discomfort. Many patients even fall asleep during treatment!

  • What conditions do you treat?

  • We specialize in treating pain (neck, back, knee, etc.), stress, anxiety, digestive issues, infertility, autoimmune conditions, and more.

    Are there any side effects?

  • Answer: Side effects are rare but may include slight bruising, mild soreness, or feeling tired after the session. These are normal and part of the body’s natural healing process.

  • How many sessions will I need?

  • Answer: The number of sessions depends on your specific condition and wellness goals. Some people feel relief after one treatment, while others may need a series of sessions for lasting results.

  • Is acupuncture safe?

  • Answer: Yes, acupuncture is safe when performed by a licensed and trained practitioner. At Quality Community Acupuncture, we use sterile, single-use needles for your safety and comfort.
